The Cycling House has been a major MT Alpha Cycling supporter since the beginning of our journey. When we set out to develop our team, TCH was confident in our mission and pledged to help us meet our goals. Last year, TCH made an even bigger commitment to MT Alpha and youth development by giving MT Alpha one full ride scholarship annually to train at one of their Tucson training camps.
A trip to TCH is a HUGE benefit to ANY rider and their training camps are a truly amazing training experience. For one week, riders get to live like professional athletes in a beautiful Tucson home and focus solely on getting good, fully supported base miles in. The TCH staff (the best part of the camps) makes sure riders are eating like kings, sleeping like princesses and laughing and relaxing like you're with old friends. We are so thankful that they are providing such an invaluable assets to one of our racer's season. Our racers apply by filing out an application, writing an essay and providing references. TCH staff then chooses one Alpha to receive the scholarship. The inaugural TCH Alpha scholarship was received by our super athlete Jenna Lyons. Last year was Jenna's first year as an Alpha and first year racing mountain bikes. However, Jenna is not a novice when it comes to trail or racing or suffering- she's a ultra runner, retired road bike racers and former hot shot (also, she's a ballerina, skier, yogi, and contributor to the Elephant Journal. Anything else awesome, Jenna does it). Needless to say, she had a great first season. But this year, with some solid TCH base miles under her belt, we foresee her blowing girls out of the water. She wrote a great blog about her time at TCH. She's really good at writing, so we highly recommend you read it :)
